Editorial Experience
I've hungered for fiction editing experience ever since my first semester of college; so of course I sought out a position as a Fiction Editor that very same semester with Caesura. Caesura is the University of Delaware's one and only undergraduate student literary magazine. The 2024-25 academic session marks my bittersweet fourth and final year as a member on the annual publication's editorial staff! In this role, I've learned how to select and reject authors' works, as well as make line-by-line edits to both fiction and, for my last two editions, creative non-fiction writing.
My career at The Review started in the summer of 2022, following my freshman year of college. The Review is the University of Delaware's independent, student-run newspaper, and I first joined it to get copy editing experience under the Mosaic (creative writing) section. As a Copy Editor, I learned everything there is to know about AP Style and fact-checking. The following winter, I stepped into the role of Co-Managing Mosaic Editor. As of May 2024, I've since risen to the role of Executive Editor, serving as second-in-command of the entire paper.
