About Me

Hi! My name is Gabriela Nieves – but everyone calls me Gaby.

I am currently a junior English BA student at the University of Delaware, with a minor in Business Administration. Outside of my studies, I serve as Co-Managing Mosaic Editor for the university’s independent student-run newspaper, The Review, and also edit the yearly undergraduate literary magazine Caesura.

Once I complete my undergraduate degree, I plan on using the education and skills I have gained in creative writing, editing, and business to pursue a career in the book publishing industry. To further prepare myself for this career path, I am currently open to interning at a publishing house or literary agency. Recruiters, please feel free to check out my resume/CV.

I first fell in love with reading novels in middle school. This was followed by a majority of my high school lunch breaks being spent in the school library, and then an entire pandemic spent researching book-related careers, the online reading community and publishing as a whole. Over the years, I found that I didn’t want to just read books. I wanted to have a hand in making them and work with authors to make their writing as great as it can be. And so, I’ve spent the last three years of my undergraduate career focusing on editing creative writing, so as to prepare for my dream role of being a fiction novel editor.
